What exactly is in a Matchday Pack?

Eleven ready-to-post updates covering the whole matchday: fixture announcement, match preview, matchday reminder, travel and ticket info, starting XI, kick-off, goal, half-time, full-time, thank you and a next-fixture teaser. Anything you don't enter is simply left out.

Do I need any social media or writing experience?

Accepted Answer

No. You fill in the details you already know — opponent, competition, kick-off, venue, or the name of a new signing — and Touchline Content writes the posts. It's built for volunteers and committee members as much as full-time media managers.

Will the posts sound like our club?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In club settings you choose a tone of voice — professional, friendly, passionate or community — and save your nicknames and hashtags. Every matchday post and announcement is written using those details.

How long does setup take?

A few minutes. Save your club name, ground, nickname, hashtags and tone of voice once and every fixture and announcement you create from then on is pre-filled with them.

Is Touchline Content only for grassroots clubs?

It's built with grassroots and non-league clubs in mind, but any club, academy or team that posts matchday updates and club news can use it.

Does it handle home and away fixtures differently?

Accepted Answer

It does. Home fixtures include your venue, ticket and parking information and welcome the visiting supporters. Away fixtures switch to travel wording and point supporters at the opposition's ground.

Can I update posts during the match?

Yes. Add goals, scorers and the half-time or full-time score as they happen, and the relevant posts regenerate instantly so you can copy and post within seconds.

What happens if a match is called off?

There's a postponement post in every pack. Fill in the fixture as normal and you'll have the wording ready to go the moment the referee makes the call.

Do I have to re-type the same opponents every week?

No. Save the clubs you play regularly to your favourites and pull their name, ground and postcode straight into a new fixture.

How do goal posts know what to say?

Accepted Answer

The Goal engine reads the scoreline at the moment you add the goal, so an opener, an equaliser, a go-ahead goal, a consolation or a late winner all get different wording — automatically, in your club's tone.

Are half-time and full-time posts score aware?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Half-time wording changes depending on whether you're ahead, level or behind, and full-time wording changes for a win, draw or defeat, including margin.

Can I record extra time, penalties or an abandoned match?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the Match Result panel choose After 90 Minutes, After Extra Time, Penalty Shootout or Abandoned. Penalty scores and an abandonment reason appear when they're relevant, and the full-time post is written to match.

Can I add substitutions?

Yes. Substitutions can be logged as they happen and included in your matchday updates alongside goals and scores.

What is the Announcements section?

Announcements is the home for club news that isn't tied to a fixture. You pick an announcement type, fill in a handful of details and Touchline Content writes the post in your club's tone of voice — exactly like a Matchday Pack, without needing a match.

What announcement types are currently supported?

Accepted Answer

Player Signing, Player Departure, Manager Appointed, Manager Leaves and Sponsorship. Each type has its own contexts — for example a signing can be a permanent transfer, a loan or a returning player — and each context has its own approved wording.

Can I customise announcement wording?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose your tone of voice, add optional details such as a quote, position or previous club, and edit the finished post before you copy it. Nothing is published automatically.

Can I regenerate announcement posts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Regenerate at any time to get a different approved variant, or after changing a detail. If a change would affect wording you've already generated, you'll see a draft warning before anything is overwritten.

Why do some fields appear or disappear?

Fields are shown only when they apply to the context you've chosen. Pick a loan signing and loan length appears; pick a permanent transfer and it doesn't. It keeps forms short and stops irrelevant details reaching the post.

What's the difference between Fixtures and Announcements?

Fixtures produce matchday content built around a specific game — preview, kick-off, goals, half-time, full-time. Announcements produce club news around signings, departures, managers and sponsors. Both use the same club settings, the same tones and the same copy-and-post workflow.

Will every matchday sound the same?

No. Each post type has several written variants per tone, and Touchline Content rotates them, so your fixture announcement in September doesn't read like the one in March.

How does the Template Library work?

Every post type has a library of approved written variants across the four tones. When you generate, Touchline Content picks a variant that suits your tone and the situation, fills in your club and fixture details, and rotates variants so your posts don't repeat.

How does the live X character counter work?

Accepted Answer

As a post is generated or edited, the counter shows its current length against X's limit and warns you before you go over, so you know whether a post needs trimming before you paste it.

Do new variants appear automatically?

Yes. When new approved wording is added to the platform it becomes available to your account without any action from you, and your existing posts stay exactly as they are until you regenerate.

Can I edit a post before publishing?

Always. Every post is fully editable text — copy it straight out, or tweak a line first. Nothing is posted automatically, so you stay in control of what goes live.
