Who is Touchline Content for?

Anyone who posts on behalf of a club: volunteers, secretaries, committee members, managers and media teams. It's built with grassroots and non-league clubs in mind, but any club or team that shares matchday updates can use it.

Yes — you can create an account, set your club up and start generating matchday content and announcements for free.

What can Touchline Content create?

Three things: a full Matchday Content Pack for every fixture, matching square club graphics to post alongside it, and club announcements between matchdays — signings, departures, manager news, sponsorships and club statements. Same club settings, same tone of voice, same copy-and-post workflow.

What exactly is in a Matchday Content Pack?

Ready-to-post updates covering the whole matchday: fixture announcement, matchday post, Starting XI caption, kick-off, goals, cards, substitutions, half-time, full-time, next fixture and a postponement announcement if the game is called off. They're grouped into Match Build-Up and Live Match, and anything you don't enter is simply left out.

Do I need any social media or writing experience?

No. You fill in the details you already know — opponent, competition, kick-off, venue, or the name of a new signing — and Touchline Content writes the posts and builds the graphics. It's built for volunteers and committee members as much as full-time media managers.

What do I need to set up before I can start?

Accepted Answer

Just your club name and home ground. That's Club Setup done and you're into Touchline Content. Everything else — extra teams, hashtags, tone of voice, supporter information, graphics, kit colours and your club badge — is optional and can be added later in Club Settings, whenever you need it.

How long does setup take?

A couple of minutes. Club Setup is one short screen and it saves as you go, so you can add the optional details now or come back to them later.

Is Touchline Content only for grassroots clubs?

Accepted Answer

It's built with grassroots and non-league clubs in mind, but any club, academy or team that posts matchday updates and club news can use it.

Does it handle home and away fixtures differently?

Accepted Answer

It does. Home fixtures include your venue, ticket and parking information and welcome the visiting supporters. Away fixtures switch to travel wording and point supporters at the opposition's ground.

Can I update posts during the match?

Yes. Add goals, scorers, cards, substitutions and the half-time or full-time score as they happen, and the relevant posts — and their graphics — regenerate instantly so you can copy and post within seconds.

What happens if a match is called off?

There's a postponement post in every pack. Fill in the fixture as normal and you'll have the wording ready to go the moment the referee makes the call.

Do I have to add fixtures one at a time?

No. Add Multiple Fixtures lets you enter a whole run of games in one go — home or away, opposition, competition, date and kick-off. It saves the fixtures only, so no posts or graphics are generated until you're ready.

Can match events be corrected after I've recorded them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Goals, cards, substitutions and scores can all be changed, and once Full-Time is recorded Matchday Updates locks so nothing changes by accident — choose Reopen / correct match updates on the fixture and regenerate anything affected.

Does it know the situation the goal was scored in?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The wording reads the scoreline at the moment you add the goal, so an opener, an equaliser, a consolation or a late winner all read differently, and half-time and full-time posts change depending on whether you're ahead, level or behind.

Do I have to set a Starting XI?

No. Starting XI is optional on every fixture. Choose Skip Starting XI and carry straight on into Matchday Updates. If the team sheet turns up later, come back and add it then.

What if our league or cup isn't in the list?

Type it in and carry on. The Competition Database is assistive only — a custom competition works everywhere in exactly the same way as a listed one.

Does it support more than one team?

Yes. Reserves, Development, Women's and youth sides can each be set up as their own team, with their own ground, competition, kick-off and admission defaults.

Can it create matchday graphics as well as the words?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As well as the written posts, Touchline Content creates square 1080x1080 matchday graphics. There are two graphics templates, both using your club colours and kit choices, and Template 2 can also show your club badge.

Do I have to use graphics?

No. Graphics are entirely optional — plenty of clubs just use the wording. Turn them on in the Graphics Centre in Club Settings whenever you want them, and off again if you don't.

Do I need design experience or design software?

Neither. You set your kit colours once and choose one of the two templates; every graphic is generated for you at 1080x1080, ready for X, Instagram and Facebook.

Do I need to upload a club badge?

No — a badge is completely optional. Template 2 looks good with or without one, Template 1 doesn't use a badge at all, and you can add one later if you decide you want it.

What's the difference between Template 1 and Template 2?

Template 1 is the original centred design and is used by default. Template 2 is a newer left-aligned design with a bolder feel, and it can show your club badge. Both use your kit colours, and you can switch between them at any time in the Graphics Centre.

Who can see our Squad & Staff Directory?

Only your own club. Your players and staff are stored against your club workspace and are never visible to other clubs, shared publicly or used anywhere outside your account.

Do I have to add my squad before I can post?

No. The directory is optional and simply saves you typing. You can always type any name directly into a goal, card, substitution or team sheet field.

What is the Announcements section?

Announcements is the home for club news that isn't tied to a fixture. You pick an announcement type, fill in a handful of details and Touchline Content writes the post in your club's tone of voice — exactly like a Matchday Content Pack, without needing a match.

What announcements can it create?

Player Signing, Player Departure, Manager Appointed, Manager Leaves, Staff Appointed, Staff Departure, Sponsorship and Club Statement. Each type has its own contexts — a signing can be a permanent transfer, a loan or a returning player — with wording to match.

How does a Club Statement work?

A Club Statement is used word for word. You write the statement yourself, choose a preset heading and add an optional link, and Touchline Content publishes your wording exactly as written rather than rewriting it — useful for anything sensitive or official.

What's the difference between Fixtures and Announcements?

Fixtures produce matchday content built around a specific game — build-up, kick-off, goals, half-time, full-time. Announcements produce club news around signings, departures, managers and sponsors. Both use the same club settings, the same tones and the same copy-and-post workflow.

Can more than one person work on our club?

Yes. Clubs use a shared Club Workspace, so several people can work from the same fixtures, matchday content, announcements, pinboard notes and copy history. Each person signs in with their own account and login details never need to be shared.

What's the difference between an Owner and a Collaborator?

Both can use the club's working areas — Fixtures, Matchday content and Announcements. The Owner additionally controls Club Settings and manages who is in the Workspace, inviting Collaborators by email address.

No. Touchline Content prepares the wording and the graphic; you copy it and publish it from your own club accounts, whenever you're ready.

Can I edit a post before publishing?

Always. Every post is fully editable text — copy it straight out, or tweak a line first. Nothing is posted automatically, so you stay in control of what goes live.

Which platforms does it work with?

Any of them. Posts are plain text with hashtags, so they paste straight into X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp groups, club newsletters or your website.

Does it work on a phone at the side of the pitch?

Yes. Touchline Content works on mobile as well as desktop, so you can open Matchday Updates on your phone while covering a game, add goals, cards and the score, then copy the post straight out. There's a dark mode for evening kick-offs too.

Will every matchday sound the same?

No. Each post type has several written variants per tone, and Touchline Content rotates them, so your fixture announcement in September doesn't read like the one in March.

Yes. In Club Settings you choose a tone of voice — professional, friendly, passionate or community — and save your nicknames and hashtags. Every matchday post and announcement is written using those details.
